Mixed-Use
Paragon Star Building #2
Architect: Finkle Williams Architecture
Contractor: Fogel-Anderson Construction Co.
BSE provided structural engineering analysis, design and detailing of a 69,000 SF 2-story mixed-use building which offices, restaurants, and retail will occupy. The entire Paragon Star development is a $250 million project spanning 190 acres that will provide facilities for sports and recreation, entertainment, dining, office space, and residency/lodging. The structure of the facility is primarily a structural steel superstructure. Steel beams on the second floor act compositely with the concrete slab to reduce framing member sizes and increase column spacing. Steel moment frames give the building lateral stability while also creating flexibility for architectural features such as large areas of glazing or curtainwall. The foundation consists of grade beams and pier caps cast on auger cast piles due to the proximity of ground water on site.
