BSE’s Newest Licensed Engineer
Congratulations to Josh Huenefeld on becoming BSE’s newest licensed engineer. Josh recently passed the structural engineering exams to become a licensed professional engineer and structural engineer in the state of Kansas. Josh was an intern with BSE during his last summer of college in 2011 and then joined BSE full time after graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor of Science and Master of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University. Josh is a valuable part of the growing BSE team as a project manager and structural engineer. Some of Josh’s recent projects include Rock Chalk Stadium and Recreation Center, City Center Lenexa, Liberty Health Healthy Living Center, Lone Elm 716 and Lukas Liquor.

Meet BSE Structural Engineer’s Summer Interns
BSE Structural Engineers has loved having four structural engineering interns and one design technician intern join our team this summer.
Colten Johnson is a structural engineering intern and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University in May of 2017. Previously, Colten had an internship at EBH & Associates overseeing concrete pours and providing structural detailing. Colten is from Marion, KS and is actively involved in his church and fraternity, and has an interest in learning about other cultures/religions. Colten enjoys spending time with his wife, Andrea, and traveling.
Kelsey Hailey is a structural engineering intern and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Milwaukee School of Engineering (MSOE) in spring 2018. Kelsey is on the MSOE Women’s Soccer Team. Last summer Kelsey was an intern at Faith Technologies. Kelsey is from Overland Park, Kansas and in her free time she likes to wakeboard, ski, spend time outdoors and hang out with her friends and family.
Mary Kaster is a structural engineering intern and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering from Kansas State University in May of 2019. At college, Mary is actively involved in Society of Women Engineers, Women in Engineering, and her sorority. Mary is from Overland Park, Kansas and enjoys going to the lake with family and spending time with friends.
Veronica Vest is a structural engineering intern and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Architectural Engineering with an emphasis in structures from Oklahoma State University in May of 2017. Last summer Veronica worked at Cromwell Architects Engineers in Little Rock, Arkansas. Veronica is the Vice President of both the Chi Epsilon and Architectural Engineering Institute chapters and is also the developer and head of Archiletics (architecture athletics). Veronica is in charge of organizing and drafting all architecture intramural teams and pick-up games. Veronica is from Hot Springs, Arkansas and enjoys playing sports, camping or painting in her free time.
Alek Norman is a Design Technician intern and will graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Design & Drafting Technology from the University of Central Missouri in May 2017. Alek is actively involved in intramural sports on campus. He is from O’Fallon, Missouri and enjoys spending time with his friends and family.
